Purbeck Farm Meats

 

We are a third generation family business farming right in the heart of Purbeck in South Dorset. In 2012 we shall be celebrating 50 years of farming here and in that time we have grown from 550 acres to just over 2000 acres running dairy, beef, sheep, pig and arable enterprises.  However despite this growth, we have always adhered to our  principles of honest, traditional, high quality farming; with the welfare of our stock being of the utmost importance.


We have been selling our lamb, beef and pork to friends and family for a number of years; but since 2005 we have increased this aspect of our business as demand for locally produced meat soared, culminating in the building of our own cutting room in 2008. We sell direct through our family business in Kimmeridge – Clavell’s Farm Shop & Café, and operate a meat box delivery scheme within the Purbeck region. We also supply some local stores, pubs and restaurants throughout the year; and in the summer visit some local camp sites with a delicious choice of meat for their BBQs.


Please refer to the tabs above to see our typical boxes of lamb, beef and pork that we  supply.  However with a bit of notice we can supply you with any cut of meat that you may want, or vary the contents of a box (eg an extra roasting joint) or provide a mixed box (subject to availability).  We also carry a stock of frozen joints if preferred. For your convenience all our meat is vacuum-packed, labelled and ready to go straight into your oven, fridge or freezer. We also carry a stock of frozen meat if preferred.


If our Bed & Breakfast guests would like to take some meat home with them after their stay, please let us know, giving 2 weeks notice if possible in order to guarantee availability.  If you can, please bring your own insulated cool bag/box and freezer blocks as they will be better than the insulated bags we offer!

In September 2010 we were very pleased and proud to be named winner of “The Best Meat Producer” category in the Taste of Dorset awards, and in 2011 we were runner-up in the same category in Taste of Dorset, and also achieved some notable success in the Taste of the West Awards:
